This country store re-opened this year and they brought the BBQ back with them! Homemade cole slaw, potato salad, cookies, brownies & cakes are just some of the offerings available at this quant store, just a little off the beaten path in Bumpass. The Barn is home of the famous Manny’s Moon Launcher Sub and Virginia’s Finest Pizza. If you’re in the mood for lighter fare, there are also a variety of homemade soups available. And to ensure freshness, all the bread is baked daily.

In a rush? The Big Cheese may be the answer. Large Cheese & Pepperoni pizzas are fresh & ready all day for only $5.99 each. However, just because the pies are available fast, doesn’t mean there are any shortcuts. The dough is made from scratch daily at the store & all of the cheese is freshly ground on site. The pizza sauce is mixed every day using their special blend of spices and highest quality tomatoes available. Other toppings are available on made-to-order pizzas for an additional charge, but you can call in your order beforehand. We’ve always heard great reviews of Chef Lee’s Gordonsville Chinese Restaurant and this spring, a Lake Anna location has been impressing our area, as well. The new dining room in the New Bridge Landing shopping center is welcoming and the menu is full of tasty traditional Chinese dishes.

Chelsea Jo’s has been a local favorite for years and this year will showcase brand new renovations. The restaurant now holds two different bars and completely new dining room. Chelsea’s has a full lunch and dinner menu, with nightly dine-in specials. Carryout is also available. Most Saturdays, you’ll find a local band performing inside for an added treat. Lakeview Restaurant offers a beautiful view of the north end of Lake Anna. The restaurant is attached to Hunter’s Landing Marina & Convenience Store, which makes it easy to pull up by boat and enjoy your meal. You can relax in a more casual atmosphere at the No Wake Zone downstairs which offers a full bar with lighter fare served, as well. The main dining room serves traditional American cuisine, with something for everyone. You can dine in the main dining room or out on the deck overlooking Lake Anna under a shady umbrella. This traditional diner in the town of Mineral is open early every morning, starting at 5:30 am with a full breakfast menu. Mineral Restaurant offers a full salad bar. Mediterranean Cuisine has never been closer, now served in the heart of Louisa. Live music can be enjoyed each Friday night in the beautifully appointed dining room. Obrigado offers a selection of wines from Portugal, Spain, France, Italy, Argentina and Chile as well as several Virginia wines. Lunch and dinner served Tuesday through Sunday and from 10:30am to 2:00 pm on Sunday, brunch is served. The homemade desserts are absolutely divine.

The first national restaurant chain has arrived at the lake with Subway #48554 opening in spring 2011. You can dine in or carryout a huge variety of subs, sandwiches, and personal sized pizzas. Subway also offers fresh salads with many different options. There are also healthy meal options that are kid friendly on the Fresh for Kids’ menu. Add a bag of chips and a beverage for a full meal or a fresh baked cookie for dessert.
