SOLID GROUNDS COFFEE HOUSE & CAFÉ – now with two convenient locations!

Looking for a relaxing, warm environment to enjoy a meal, a dessert or your favorite Espresso drink. Check out Solid Grounds Coffee House & Café with its made to order food, and Espresso drinks just as good as any Italian Espresso bar can offer. You can now choose between two locations: the original Solid Grounds across from the courthouse in downtown Louisa, and a second new restaurant in Spotsylvania Courthouse Village, across the street from the pavilion. The second Solid Grounds is just a stop along the way if you are travelling to/from Fredericksburg or from Interstate 95. Check it out just off Route 208 at Brock Road.

Both restaurants serve breakfast and lunch seven days a week and offer the same menu. Selections include a great variety of specialty waffles, pastry treats, fresh in-house baked cakes and pies, and a full range of Panini and deli sandwiches. Try one of the fresh salads. Local favorites include the “Courthouse”, the Solid Grounds version of the classic Rueben, and the “Jailbird”, a grilled chicken Panini. Other favorites include their famous gourmet cheesecake, and variety of freshly baked Quiche. The “& Café” added to the name emphasizes they are much more than a coffee house.

Solid Grounds Baristas are trained to make all your favorite Lattes, Cappuccinos, Americanos and other Espresso specialty drinks. Both locations use the very best Italian Espresso machines, which includes the new Nuova Simonelli Aurelia, chosen for the 2010 World Barista Championship. You have to check out this machine. If you have a favorite, the Solid Grounds staff will make it exactly to your liking. If you prefer a refreshing cold drink, check out the variety of fruit smoothies and Frappuccino drinks which are also specialties of Solid Grounds.

Our regular coffees are made from locally roasted beans imported from South America and Africa. Four flavors of freshly brewed coffee are offered at all times.
If you need a place to take a break from your busy schedule, drop in and use the free Wi-Fi connection, or just relax in a most casual setting. Solid Grounds welcomes groups who want to dine, or meet for business, or just socialize. While there, browse the walls full of artwork from local artists which you can purchase. On many Friday nights you can enjoy live entertainment from local groups. If you want to entertain, Solid Grounds is always looking for individuals or groups to play.

Both locations Open at 7am Monday through Saturday, and at 9am Sunday. Louisa closes at 4pm Monday through Saturday and at 2pm Sunday, while Spotsylvania closes at 7pm Monday through Saturday and 4pm Sunday. On Friday evenings when entertainment is scheduled hours are extended to 9pm.
